Throughout the years many talented and committed individuals have contributed to the making of A Kalahari Family including the Ju/'hoansi, media professionals, academics, and development workers. The team has been led by John Marshall who has known the Ju/'hoan people intimately for half a century. His commitment to assist the Ju/'hoansi in their struggle for self-determination has always been motivated by the desire that his namesake, ≠Oma, and all Ju/'hoan people, should continue to survive independently on their own land with a voice in the shaping of their own destinies.
A Kalahari Family presents images of the obstacles the Ju/'hoan people have overcome in the last fifty years and of the tremendous challenges they face in the present. The series aims to inform local, national and international efforts about how better to meet the needs of the Ju/'hoansi and all people classified as "Bushmen."
