December 24th 2022: The Mirage in Las Vegas officially has a new owner as Hard Rock International has completed its $1.1 billion purchase of the famed Las Vegas resort. Hard Rock International is owned by the Seminole Tribe of Florida.
The deal now completed means the Strip side attraction the volcano may be going away soon as the plan is to replace it with a guitar shaped hotel tower on the site. The new owners have already announced plans to upgrade the property with new convention space, casino floor as well as a new theater.
The resort will continue as The Mirage until the renovation is complete at which time it will be rebranded as the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Las Vegas. It’s a shame to see The Mirage disappear but the one thing with Las Vegas is change is constant so there is always the chance your favorite place will one day disappear.
