December 30th 2022: MGM Resorts International has announced the sale of the October 1st concert grounds to a Native American tribe. The concert grounds were the site of a mass shooting and mean a lot to many people.
The purchaser of the land is the Three Affiliated Tribes of the Fort Berthold Indian Reservation but the sale price or future plans for the site by the tribe weren’t mentioned. The land is 15.26 acres across from the Luxor on the South Las Vegas Strip. The tribe had previously purchased in 2020 6.86 acres on the east edge of the concert grounds.
The purchase did not include the 2 acres that MGM Resorts International had already given to Clark County for a permanent October 1st memorial.
